Posting to social media, seems like an easy process. One would think all you have to do is fill in the little rectangle. Come up with some random little words, that string together like a quote or an expression followed by a interesting graphic you just slapped together. However, would you believe this is not the correct way to do things? Would you believe that there is actually a strategic approach you should follow, and that some content can resonate much better if its curated properly. Case in point, lets look towards timing and content.
Most people think that when they make a social media post, it doesn’t matter which time of the day they decide to post it. This stands true, if your sharing photos of your dogs, or airing out your dirty laundry for all to read. But if your a business, trying to drive brand awareness then you have to use a little bit of strategy, and a little bit of acting like you belong. Let’s be real, what better way is there to act like you belong then to make sure you create and post and content at the most optimal time. The data has shown that the most active time your customers would be using their social media would be 8am, 11am-1pm, and after work. With that information, its only logical that you should schedule your content to post right before each of those times to drive the most impact possible.
When it comes to the content you plan on posting on social media, one really has to think about what to create. Should it be photos which you post, or maybe a blog you create to help get your thoughts out in the open. However, if you really want to drive brand awareness, and connect with your target market then videos should be where your focus lands. Video marketing, as blown up in the past couple years. More and more people are influenced by videos on social media then any other kind of content. This means that if you really want to try and sell your brand, or your product, focusing on creating short videos and spamming them on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok will really help influence your target market. All these platforms have their own video capturing software, however the real juicy bit is the live component. Using the live feature, lets you connect with your potential client on a different level. It basically gives your customer a sense of engagement with your product, and of course with you as a person.
In closing, when it comes to creating and curating your social media posts you have to think in a strategic manner. Making sure that you are posting your content at the best possible times, and using the best format to drum up business. However, in my personal opinion its not about how many likes you get on your content, its rather how much money can you make off your content.
